Neutrois

A gender identity described as neutral, null, or absent - distinct from agender in that neutrois often implies a specific quality of neutral gender rather than simply no gender. Some neutrois people describe a specific "null gender"; others describe actively wanting to minimize or neutralize their gender experience.

One of the earlier community-coined non-binary terms, emerging in online gender communities in the early 2000s before the wider visibility of non-binary identity.

• "Neutrois and agender are the same thing." While closely related, neutrois often describes a specific, positive quality of neutrality - a null or zero-point gender - rather than simply the absence of gender.
• "Neutrois people don't have a gender." Neutrois people have a gender identity: it is neutral. Nullity or neutrality is a real, experienced gender position.
