• Abrosexual T5

  A sexual orientation characterized by fluidity - the person's orientation changes frequently or constantly over time, shifting between different identities.

• Aceflux / Aroflux T5

  Aceflux and aroflux describe attraction that fluctuates along the asexual and aromantic spectrums over time, rather than staying fixed.

• Achillean / MLM (Men Loving Men) T4

  An umbrella term for men (and masculine-aligned people) attracted to other men, regardless of whether they also experience attraction to other genders.

• Agender T3

  Having no gender identity, or a gender identity of 'none.' Also called genderless, gender-free, non-gendered, or ungendered.

• Androgyne & Androgyny T3

  Androgyne describes a gender identity that combines masculine and feminine or sits between them, while androgyny describes a blended gender expression that a person of any gender can have.

• Androsexual & Gynesexual T4

  Androsexual describes attraction to masculinity or men, and gynesexual attraction to femininity or women. Both are worded to describe who someone is drawn to without assuming the gender of the person feeling it.

• Aporagender T5

  A gender identity that is separate from and defined entirely independently of masculine, feminine, or any combination between them.

• Aroace T3

  A combined identity descriptor for people who are both aromantic and asexual - experiencing little to no romantic attraction and little to no sexual attraction.

• Aromantic Spectrum T3

  Experiences little to no romantic attraction toward others.

• Asexual Spectrum T2

  Does not experience sexual attraction toward others.

• Autosexual & Autoromantic T5

  Autosexual and autoromantic describe sexual or romantic attraction directed primarily toward oneself.

• Bear (Bear Brotherhood) T4

  Bear culture is a community within gay, bisexual and queer men's spaces that celebrates larger, hairier, rugged-masculine bodies and a warm, welcoming social ethos.

• Bigender T3

  Identifies as having two distinct gender identities - simultaneously present or alternating.

• Bisexual T1

  Emotional, romantic, and/or sexual attraction to more than one gender - not necessarily equally, simultaneously, in the same way, or to the same degree.

• Burrnesha (Albanian Sworn Virgins) T4

  A traditional social gender role in the Albanian highlands in which a person assigned female at birth takes an oath of lifelong celibacy and thereafter lives entirely as a man.

• Butch & Femme T2

  Butch and femme are gender expressions rooted in lesbian and queer culture: butch draws on masculinity, femme on femininity, and both are identities in their own right.

• Ceterosexual & Ceteromantic T5

  Sexual (ceterosexual) or romantic (ceteromantic) attraction to non-binary, genderqueer, and gender-nonconforming people.

• Cisgender T2

  A person whose gender identity aligns with the sex they were assigned at birth.

• Cross-Dresser T2

  A person who wears clothing typically associated with a different gender, for any reason - comfort, expression, performance, or enjoyment.

• Demiflux T5

  A gender identity with two components: one part is stable, and another part fluctuates in intensity.

• Demigender (Demigirl / Demiboy) T4

  Identifies partially (but not fully) with one gender, alongside another gender or no gender.

• Demisexual T3

  Demisexual people experience sexual attraction only after forming a deep emotional bond, and do not feel immediate (primary) sexual attraction.

• Disability Pride T4

  Disability Pride affirms disability as a natural part of human diversity, and its flag represents the disability community while being safe for people with visually-triggered conditions.

• Drag (Drag Queens & Drag Kings) T1

  The performance art of dressing in exaggerated gender presentation - typically the opposite of one's everyday gender - for entertainment, artistic expression, or cultural celebration.

• Enbian T5

  A term for non-binary people attracted to other non-binary people - the non-binary equivalent of 'sapphic' and 'achillean.'

• Fictosexual T5

  Sexual attraction directed primarily or exclusively toward fictional characters, typically with a strong emotional attachment.

• Gay / Homosexual T1

  A person who experiences emotional, romantic, and/or sexual attraction primarily or exclusively to people of the same or a similar gender.

• Gender Nonconforming (GNC) T3

  A broad descriptor for people whose gender expression does not conform to the social norms and expectations associated with their assigned sex at birth or identified gender.

• Genderfae & Genderfaun T5

  Genderfae and genderfaun are genderfluid identities that never reach one binary pole: genderfae shifts between genders but never fully male, genderfaun shifts but never fully female.

• Genderfluid T2

  A gender identity that shifts over time or depending on context - between male, female, non-binary, and others - at varying rates and frequencies.

• Genderflux T5

  A gender identity in which the intensity of one's gender varies over time - for example, sometimes feeling fully female, sometimes agender, sometimes between.

• Gendergender T5

  When someone experiences a gender, but that gender is unexplainable and can only be identified as 'gender' and nothing else.

• Genderqueer T3

  A gender identity (and umbrella term) for people who reject or blur traditional gender categories.

• Gendervague T5

  A neurogender identity in which a person's gender cannot be separated from, or described independently of, their neurodivergence.

• Greygender & Gendervoid T5

  Greygender describes a weak, partial, or low-intensity gender; gendervoid describes an actively felt sense of having no gender, an inner emptiness where gender would be.

• Heterosexual / Straight T1

  Emotional, romantic, and/or sexual attraction primarily to people of a different gender.

• Hijra & South/Southeast Asian Third Genders T4

  Hijra are a recognized third-gender community across South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh), with parallel third-gender roles across Southeast Asia.

• Intersex T2

  An umbrella term for people born with variations in sex characteristics (chromosomes, hormones, gonads, or anatomy) that do not fit typical binary definitions.

• Leather (Leather Pride) T4

  Leather culture is a community built around leather, kink and BDSM, with deep roots in post-war queer and gay men's spaces, and values of trust, consent and honest negotiation.

• Lesbian T1

  A woman (or non-binary person who relates to womanhood in some way) who experiences emotional, romantic, and/or sexual attraction primarily or exclusively to other women and/or non-binary people.

• Libramasculine & Librafeminine T5

  Partial-gender identities in which a person is mostly agender but feels a small, secondary attachment to masculinity (libramasculine) or femininity (librafeminine).

• Mahu T4

  A traditional Hawaiian and Tahitian identity for people who embody both masculine and feminine spirit.

• Maverique T5

  A non-binary gender that is independent of and not defined by reference to the gender binary - not a mix, not a midpoint, not an absence, but its own distinct gender.

• Multigender T4

  An umbrella term for anyone who experiences more than one gender identity - simultaneously, alternately, or fluidly.

• Neutrois T4

  A gender identity described as neutral, null, or absent - distinct from agender in that neutrois often implies a specific quality of neutral gender rather than simply no gender.

• Non-Binary T1

  A gender identity (and umbrella term) for genders that exist outside the male/female binary.

• Novosexual T5

  An orientation in which a person's sexual orientation changes together with their gender identity.

• Omnisexual T4

  Attraction to people of all genders, similar to pansexual, but with the distinction that gender does play a role in the experience of attraction.

• Pangender T4

  A gender identity in which a person identifies with all genders, or with so many genders that their experience is effectively without limit or boundary.

• Pansexual T2

  Sexual, romantic, and/or emotional attraction to people regardless of their sex or gender.

• Polyamorous T2

  The practice of engaging in multiple romantic and/or sexual relationships simultaneously, with the knowledge and full consent of all parties involved.

• Polysexual T4

  Sexual/romantic attraction to multiple - but not necessarily all - genders.

• Pup / Puppy Play T4

  Pup play is a form of role play and community within kink culture in which a person takes on a relaxed, affectionate, dog-like headspace.

• Queer T1

  An umbrella term for sexual and/or gender identities that are not exclusively heterosexual or cisgender.

• Queer People of Color (QPOC) T4

  Queer People of Color (QPOC) centres the experiences of LGBTQ+ people who are also Black, Indigenous or people of colour, at the intersection of racism and anti-LGBTQ+ bias.

• Questioning T2

  Used to describe people who are exploring or are unsure about their sexual orientation, gender identity, or both.

• Reciprosexual & Recipromantic T5

  Sexual (reciprosexual) or romantic (recipromantic) attraction that develops only after the other person has expressed attraction first.

• Sapiosexual T4

  Sexual and/or romantic attraction based primarily on intelligence rather than on gender or physical characteristics.

• Sapphic / WLW T3

  An umbrella term for women (and feminine-aligned people) attracted to other women, regardless of whether they also experience attraction to other genders.

• Spectrasexual T5

  Sexual and/or romantic attraction to multiple or varied genders - framed as attraction across a spectrum of genders and sexes, including non-binary and intersex people.

• Straight Ally T2

  A cisgender, heterosexual person who supports LGBTQ+ rights and affirms LGBTQ+ identities.

• Third Gender T4

  An umbrella concept for gender roles, recognized across many cultures, that exist outside the Western man/woman binary - each culturally specific and not interchangeable.

• Transgender T1

  An umbrella adjective for a person whose gender identity does not align with the sex assigned to them at birth.

• Transgender & Nonbinary Love T4

  A love-and-solidarity design that combines the transgender and non-binary pride palettes to celebrate trans and non-binary people and their relationships.

• Transmasculine & Transfeminine T3

  Umbrella terms for trans people who move toward masculinity (transmasculine) or femininity (transfeminine), including binary and non-binary people whose identity or expression leans that way.

• Travesti T4

  A Latin American gender identity for people assigned male at birth who develop a feminine gender identity and expression, understood within Latin American gender theory as its own gender position.

• Trigender T5

  Identifies as having three distinct gender identities - which may be simultaneously present, alternating, or fluid between them.

• Two-Spirit T3

  A modern English umbrella term used across many Indigenous North American communities to describe people who fulfill a traditional third-gender or gender-variant ceremonial and social role.

• Xenogender T4

  An umbrella term for gender identities that cannot be adequately described using existing human gender language and are instead described through other frameworks.
