Who we are
TransLaser is an intersectional safe(r) space in Ghent, specialised in laser hair removal for and by the queer and trans community. Born out of the same drive as GenderGender, we help people express their gender and find gender euphoria in a safe and effective way.
We're looking for an enthusiastic colleague to strengthen our small, warm and inclusive team on a part-time basis.
What you'll do
As a beauty specialist you're responsible for a caring and effective treatment. You guide clients in a friendly, empathetic way from the moment they arrive until they leave. We offer permanent hair removal on all body zones, so treating intimate areas is no problem for you and you stay professional throughout. Between appointments you keep the workspace hygienic and tidy, and at the end of the day you check everything and close the salon properly.

Who you are
You have a passion for helping others and an interest in aesthetics and cosmetics. Lightly repetitive work that asks for sustained focus, alternated with social client contact, doesn't put you off.
- You're friendly, patient and empathetic, but also assertive
- You work in an orderly, independent and detail-oriented way
- You speak fluent Dutch and English; French is a plus
- You have knowledge of or affinity with neurodivergence
- You have solid knowledge of or experience with transgender topics
- You've had laser hair removal yourself, or you're open to it, so you know how it feels
- Your diploma doesn't matter to us. Your common sense and enthusiasm do

- A temp contract with the option of a permanent one
- Part-time schedule: Monday, Friday, Saturday (minimum two days; Monday optional)
