Who we are
TransLaser is an intersectional safe(r) space in Ghent, Belgium, Europe, specialised in laser hair removal for and by the queer and trans community. Born out of the same drive as GenderGender, we help people express their gender and find gender euphoria in a safe and effective way.
We're looking for an enthusiastic colleague to strengthen our small, warm and inclusive team on a part-time basis.
What you'll do
As a laser technician you're responsible for providing an effective treatment with the necessary care. You guide clients in a friendly, empathetic way through their appointment, from the moment they arrive until they leave. We offer permanent hair removal from head to toe, so treating intimate areas is not an issue and you stay professional throughout. Between appointments you keep the workspace hygienic and tidy, and at the end of the day you properly check everything before closing the salon.

Who you are
You have a passion for helping others, an interest in aesthetics and a perfectionist's eye. Slightly repetitive work doesn't scare you, and you enjoy creating a safe(r) space for others, whether that means light hearted banter, a serious conversation or keeping it strictly business.
- You're friendly, patient and empathetic, but also assertive
- You work in an orderly, independent and detail-oriented way
- You speak Dutch and English fluently; speaking French is a bonus
- You have knowledge of or affinity with neurodivergence
- You have solid knowledge of or experience with transgender topics
- You've had laser hair removal yourself, or you're open to it, so you know how it feels
- Your diploma doesn't matter to us. Your common sense and enthusiasm do
What we offer

- A temp contract with the option of a permanent one
- Part-time schedule: Monday, Friday, Saturday (minimum two days; Monday optional)
