What tucking underwear does
Tucking means arranging your genitals so they are not visible under clothing. A gaff is underwear made for this: a firmer front panel holds everything flat, with normal fabric everywhere else. Our tucking underwear comes as slips, thongs, tangas, shorties, bikini bottoms and swimsuits. It holds without sticking to your skin and comes off instantly, which is why we recommend it to almost everyone.
How to tuck
Many people tuck everything back and let the garment hold it. Some also move the testes up into the inguinal canals, the passages they originally descended through. There is no correct method, only what is comfortable. The UNTAG Humphider is a flexible padding that goes inside the tucking slip for an even smoother line.
Getting the fit right
- Snug and flat, not gripping. Never size down: too small is hard to get into, uncomfortable all day and more likely to chafe.
- Measure your waist where your underwear elastic usually sits, and use the table for your brand on our size chart.
- More volume to hold? A slip generally works better than a thong.
- Swimwear: wet fabric is harder to pull on, so most people are happier one size up.
How long
There is no officially established safe limit, and we will not invent one. Very long daily tucking is common, and so is discomfort alongside it. So: untuck when you get home, take days off, never tuck while you sleep, and untuck for exercise or wear a lighter garment. If you tuck the testes up, release them when you untuck.
Hygiene
- Wash with plain water or a gentle unscented cleanser, and dry well before you tuck.
- Change your tucking underwear daily, more often in heat or after sport.
- Keep drinking water and do not hold your pee because untucking is a hassle. Holding urine is a real route to urinary tract infections.
Warning signs: untuck
- Testicular or groin pain, or a dull ache that builds through the day
- Swelling, or a lump or bulge in the groin
- Numbness or pins and needles
- Pain, burning or difficulty when you pee
- Skin that is raw, blistered or not recovering, or itch, rash or discharge that keeps coming back
See a doctor for pain that does not stop when you untuck, anything that looks like a hernia, signs of a urinary tract infection, or a skin problem that keeps returning. Sudden severe testicular pain is an emergency: get seen the same day. The evidence on tucking and fertility is limited and not settled; if fertility matters to you, talk to a doctor.
Care
- Wash tucking underwear and swimwear after each wear, at 30 °C max, ideally in a laundry bag. Air dry. Never in the dryer: it wrecks the compression panel.
- Rinse swimwear in clean water after every swim.
- Humphider: hand wash with lukewarm water and mild soap, pat dry and let it air dry completely. No washing machine, no dryer. Store it somewhere dry and cool, out of direct sunlight.
