How to use your Trans Masc Pump

The Trans Masc Pump was designed for trans, queer and non-binary bodies. It creates suction in a clear cylinder, which draws blood flow to your genitals. Many people use it for sensation and stimulation. Some people on testosterone use it regularly because they find it helps with growth; that is their experience, not a promise, and results differ from body to body.

This is general information, not medical advice.

What is in the kit

  • A clear cylinder (19 x 5 cm) with a wide, flanged base that sits comfortably against your body
  • A hand pump with a release valve
  • Three silicone rings in different sizes, to adjust the opening to your body

Using it

  1. Wash your hands and make sure the cylinder and rings are clean and dry.
  2. Choose the ring that gives a comfortable seal without pinching.
  3. Apply water-based lube to the rim and to your skin. Lube makes the seal better and the whole thing more comfortable. Stay with a water-based lube, because silicone lube is not compatible with silicone.
  4. Place the cylinder over your genitals and press it gently against your body.
  5. Pump slowly, a few squeezes at a time, and check how it feels. More pressure is not better.
  6. When you are done, open the release valve first, and only then take the cylinder off.

Safety

  • Start with short sessions of 5 to 10 minutes and light suction, and build up slowly over time. It should feel comfortable, never painful.
  • Open the release valve straight away if you feel pain, numbness, tingling or coldness.
  • Stop if you see bruising, small red spots or swelling, and wait until your skin has fully recovered before using it again.
  • Never use the pump on irritated, broken or healing skin.
  • Never fall asleep with the pump on.
  • See a doctor if pain, swelling or discolouration does not go away, or if you are unsure whether pumping is a good idea for you.

Care

After every use, take the pump apart. Wash the cylinder and the rings with lukewarm water and a small drop of mild soap, rinse well and let everything dry completely before you put it away. Keep the hand pump and valve dry. Store it somewhere clean, out of direct sunlight.
